The Boat

The Harbor Town Belle is an 80-foot paddle wheeler that cruises the Irondequoit Bay, Genesee River, and Lake Ontario shoreline in Rochester, NY.  Berthed at the Port of Rochester, the HTB was designed and built on the banks of the Genesee River.  The HTB harkens back to simpler times when her sister riverboats plied the greatest American waterway, the Mississippi, over a century ago.

The Belle, during construction, received a rigorous monthly Coast Guard inspection to insure all construction was in line according to the American Bureau of Shipping Standards.  Stability tests are a requirement under these standards, which were completed before in began operation in August of 1998.  The vessel now receives an annual Coast Guard inspection, meeting qualifications that are much more thorough than any New York State requirements.
